Rituals, Awards and Protocol Manual:

The Ritual & Awards and Protocol Manual is meant to be an official reference for Legion ceremonies and protocols. We trust that Legionnaires will make good use of The Ritual, Awards and Protocol Manual and, in so doing, achieve a standardized method of operation throughout The Royal Canadian Legion. It is an integration of the four former manuals (Ritual and Insignia Manual, Honours and Awards Manual, National Honours Manual and Protocol Manual).  Legion members at all levels are encouraged to use this integrated manual for information purposes. When a guest speaker or Legion official is expected to perform ceremonial duties, it is recommended that, prior to the ceremony, a rostrum or lectern provided with adequate sound and lighting be available. A copy of this manual should also be available for reference purposes. This information is also available on the Legion website – www.legion.ca. Any deviations from this manual should be rare and only due to local circumstances that are unique. This manual contains all resolutions adopted up to and including the 2018 Dominion Convention.

Poppy Manual:

The Poppy Manual is an invaluable tool for the Legion’s Poppy Campaign Chairperson as well as those supporting the Poppy Campaign. The tools and procedures contained in this manual are necessary to ensure a productive and effective Poppy Campaign. Article XI of the General By-Laws provides the direction necessary to operate the Poppy Campaign and to use Poppy Trust Funds. This manual provides the amplification to ensure that all are aware of what is to be done and how it is to be done. In short, the Poppy Manual has two goals:

  1. To provide guidance and information to address planning, organizing, implementing, conducting and concluding the Poppy Campaign; and
  2. To describe the authorized uses of Poppy Trust Funds and the prohibitions on any other uses of these funds.

Rules of Procedures for Legion Meetings:

This manual of Rules of Procedure has been drafted to assist a Chair at any meeting of The Royal Canadian Legion in the performance of their duties and to make available to all members a ready reference to the rules of debate. A further purpose is to standardize procedure at all meetings of The Royal Canadian Legion.
