Volunteering
The Bedford Legion is run on the generous support of our volunteers. If you have any skills or experience that you’d like to share with us or just want to help out where needed, please contact us at info@bedfordlegion.ca or give us a call at 902-835-2968; we’d be grateful for your assistance. Here are some examples of what we have available (not an exhaustive list) that you can volunteer for:
Bingo
Every Tuesday Nights the Bedford legion hosts a Weekly Bingo. Several volunteer positions are available which include:
- Setting up / breaking down the tables and chairs
- Selling bingo cards
- Selling other tickets
- Selling refreshments
- Verifying winning cards
- Assisting office staff
- Monitoring the door
- etc.

Poppy Campaign
The Poppy Campaign runs from the last Friday in October until November 11th. During this time you can assist by:
- Volunteering at local storefronts to distribute poppy to the public,
- Deliver wreaths and poppy trays to local businesses,
- Work in the Poppy Campaign office,
- Drive volunteers to and from local storefronts

Kitchen
Whether you’re an aspiring chef, interested in cooking or just want to help out serving or in the kitchen; you can assist our caterer during various events.

Administration
The Bedford Legion is a not-for-profit organization which requires some experienced personnel to assist with administration. Do you have experience with:
- Accounting,
- Book-keeping,
- Budgeting,
- Web-design,
- Inventory management

Building Maintenance
The Bedford Legion building was built in 1957 and has been added to ever since. As a result there are several building maintenance projects (Honey-Doo list items).
If you’re competent with a hammer, power-tools, paint brushes, lawn mower, etc. We could use your help.

Sports
The Bedford Legion is highly involved with Darts Nova Scotia and holds several tournaments per year.
Bartending
The Bedford Legion bar can always use some help during large events and there may be a few shifts to help out our staff.
